This technology is regarded as a strong tool when the precision farming philosophy will be taken into practice. 4 institutions of National Agricultural Research Organizatrion (NARO), JAPAN, have been together carried out a research project which is named "Development of decentralized measurement and control network for farm machinery". In this workshop, the recent result from the reseach project will be introduced and some of them will be demonstrated. A guest from Germany will also give a presentation, and the possibility of application of ISO 11783 protocols into Japanese style small size farming will be discussed.
